Hello Camp Anderson family,
This is Pastor Kevin, blogging from the Camp Anderson campus. Welcome to our new website and this new blog opportunity that I am calling “Rev Kev’s GrowThere”. I am so excited about all that God is doing here at the camp.
Several projects are under construction right now, like our new coffee shop and a super cool Low Ropes Course. I am counting the days down to summer camp and I am pumped about all that God is doing in my own heart about our summer camp theme.
This time of year, most everyone is considering new year’s resolutions.
In Philippians 3:7-10 we find some insightful truth about what really matters in this life and in the next.
7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in[a] Christ-the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ-yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
According to the scripture, most everything in this life that you and I could aspire to do or change about ourselves is really worthless in comparison to knowing Christ! Jesus is the epicenter of everything we could ever do or become. In case you have not found Him yet, He is the answer to every question, the hope for every disappointment and the love that you have been longing for.
Paul said, I want to know Christ. That is the ultimate resolution!
I pray as you ring in this new year, your most valiant efforts will not be wasted on things that will pass away, but that you will invest in a relationship with Jesus by coming to know him in a fresh new way. Talk to Him…make the commitment to read His Word everyday, and live your life dependent on his resurrection power with a willingness to suffer whatever loss may come for the sake of KNOWING HIM!
It is worth it to follow and serve Jesus with you life…Christ is enough!
Stay tuned for more blog posts that will help to prepare our hearts for all that God desires to do in us and through us this summer!
I love you guys!
